Hosted by Eau Claire Area Master Gardener Volunteer Association

9:30 am: Site A at 1115 Barland St in Eau Claire:  Hostess Gloria Schley has a steep hill garden of labeled shade perennials and a boulevard of sunny perennials.   See organic gardens with over 50 different clematis varieties, various trellis types, shade natives, herbs, & garden art structures, roof garden and drip irrigation system. Then go inside to see a variety of orchids & how they can be grown on brackets to make efficient use of sunny spaces. Meet as early as 8:30 am here for coffee & camaraderie in the garden.

11:00 am : Site B at 1908 Hogeboom Ave.:  Hostess Carol Cox has perennial gardens surrounding the house and a planting between the sidewalk and the street.  There are several patio areas plus numerous little sitting areas or “rooms” throughout the gardens.  The garden includes shade and sun areas and a small pond area.  Garden art is scattered throughout the garden along with a number of homemade arbors.

12:30 pm : Lunch on your own or view the Schlegelmilch-McDaniel House historic gardens at Site C, 517 S. Farwell Ave or the Corydon Prairie at Site D, 1 block west of the intersection of State St & Corydon Rd.

2 pm : Site E at S10044 County Trunk F:  Hostess Nancy Spak has perennial gardens featuring unusual shrubs & trees, a large pond, fairy gardens, rock gardens, a “living wall”, and a variety of statuary.  Known for her leaded glass creations and flare for design, our hostess has incorporated numerous leaded glass works of art into her gardens.  There’s a pergola, many arbors, a Japanese-style “dry creek”, and numerous calm sitting areas. Enjoy pizza from the outdoor wood fired hearth oven while you relax & chat with fellow MGVs…the perfect ending to a fun-filled day of garden touring!
